First of all, God created "love". I John 4:9,10 Love explains: 1) why God creates – because He loves, He creates people to love: 2) why God cares – because He loves them, He cares for sinful people: 3) why we are free to receive and reject – because He wants a loving response from us; 4) why Christ died – His love for us caused Him to seek a solution to the problem of sin; and 5) why we receive eternal life – His love expresses itself to us FOREVER. "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten (unique) Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the satisfaction for our sins."
Bible Sayings 2:
I John 4: 19 God’s love is the source of all human love. It is not natural for man to love God. We love Him because He first loved us." This is a process..the more I get to "know" God the more I love Him but it always amazes me that He can love me!
Bible Verses 3: I John 4:11 God’s love for us gives us the capacity to love others. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another." We are motivated by His love for us.
Bible Sayings 3:
I John 4:18 God’s love for us removes all fear. We can resolve our fears by focusing on His immeasurable love for us. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love."
Bible Sayings 4:
Then there is that famous "Love Chapter": I Corinthians 13: 1-8 (This defines real love.) Love is more important than all spiritual gifts exercised within the church body. Love makes our actions and gifts useful and love is available to all. Society confuses lust with love. God’s kind of love is directed outwardly toward others…not ourselves. It must be unselfish – giving love expecting nothing in return, which is not natural for us. This is God’s kind of love. The closer we get to God, the more unselfish we become in loving others
Bible Verses
John 15:1-10 Tells of God’s great love for all. Vs 9 Jesus says: "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue in my love." Vs 10 is the key verse: "If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in His love."
John 3:16 – God’s wondrous expression of "love". "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This is GOD’S GREAT LOVE STORY!
Bible Verses 8:
John 15: 11 - Explains the results – "…that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full." That inward peace and joy that comes from abiding in His great love!
Bible Sayings 9:
John 15: 12 - We are commanded to love one another, as He has loved us – to the extent that His love was so great that He laid down His life for us. (Vs. 13)
Bible Verses 10:
Ephesians 5: 21-33 - God gives His principles regarding the love between husband and wife; how a husband is to love his wife and how the wife is to love her husband. This is so beautiful to me.
Bible Verses 11:
The Song of Solomon tells of the love between a bridegroom (King Solomon) and his bride, to affirm the sanctity of marriage. It also pictures God’s love for His people. The key verse in this book is: "I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine. (6:3) This Book is an allegory of God’s love for Israel and the church. Also a literal story about married love. Here we can learn about love, marriage and sex as well as seeing God’s overwhelming love for His people.
